Maura L. Guaderrama is a Durango criminal defense attorney dedicated to compassionate, community-focused representation. Born and raised on the border of Juárez, Mexico, she developed a deep appreciation for family, culture, and justice early in life. These values continue to shape both her personal and professional work.
First, Maura earned her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from New Mexico State University in 2016. There, she built a strong foundation in ethical reasoning and advocacy. She then earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School in 2020, which prepared her for a career centered on service and fairness.
After law school, Maura began her career as a public defender in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Later, she continued that work in Durango, Colorado. During this time, she represented individuals facing serious legal challenges. As a result, she strengthened her belief in client-centered advocacy and the importance of listening, preparation, and standing firm in defense of others.
